Question: The ac adapter has a shortening in it & i cannot charge the Compaq Armada E500 battery. is there anyway i can charge the battery until i get a new ac adapter
Answer:Afraid not man, you need the ac adapter for that battery and with out it you won't be able to charge the battery.
Hope you can get a high quality battery for you laptop and reduce some trouble.
